Well I'm never animated a lot myself but I did collect a bit of knowledge via yt and other platforms.

#

There are keyframes and in-between frames

#

What you normally do is you start by drawing the keyframes, these are important frames in your animation that give you an idea of how the movements and action should be.

#

Rotating a head is a pretty common exercise, you normally start with the keyframe of facing the front, left, back, right (you can just copy that and if the hairstyle is asymmetrical just change the copy accordingly) and maybe after that also the 3/4 views

#

Depending on how fluid you want the animation to be you can then start adding the in between frames

#

So you have to at least know how you hairstyle looks from the main angels and after that you can puzzle the rest together

#

I also see people using a box to animate the head in so that you get a better grasp of how the planes of the face works

hi, i do animation—i would recommend you make a character turn-around sheet and then an animated turn-around if you really want to (just because they do look cool), but as an animation guide the turn-around sheet is a lot more convenient, and for outfits that appear once or twice I would do a smaller turn-around (just 3 angles is usually enough)

sort of what was said above, you just need to think about the character in a 3d setting, consider what the hair style will look like from the front, side, back and 3/4

as a quick example, i would think of something like this
