I recommend to get a small set rather than individual markers. Do you have any idea what colors she already has?

Huh interesting. Is there a particular reason she told you?

#

There are small sets. Also is she only wanting copic? Theres other brands that are just as good if not better

There are really small sets like this you could get her. Theyre pretty good starter colors. https://a.co/d/aKyhEli

Id personally recommend the pastel one because it a little easier to work with, while the more vibrant colors without a wider variety of options dont have as good mixability with each other. Might not be the best with the colors already on the drawing but theyre definitely the better overall colors to start out with imo. Plus she seems to be more into softer colors anyway

Yeah. The nature of alcohol markers is that you can layer it. And pastel colors even more so. The darker and more vibrant the base color is the harder it is to see layering. Also it can only go so far in the end. But yeah. Definitely recommend getting a paper designed for alcohol markers or else it will bleed through and even bleed out. I use ohuhu’s marker paper and i love it

They also have a protective plastic sheet you can put under it so it doesn’t bleed onto tables

I think the pastel set is the one to do. And she can even use colored pencils on top. Lots of artists do that.

Also thick paper doesn’t necessarily mean its the one to use. Like if its just straight up cardstock while yes its better than printer paper, it still bleeds a lot. You want to reduce bleeding. Paper designed specifically for alcohol markers is the best way to go about it
