So this is my first portrait drawing without using a reference and I just want to know y’all opinions on it, if the shading looks good and if the anatomy looks ok, etc. Does the hair look good or should I make it shorter? The glasses aren’t meant to be perfect, I made them slightly uneven on purpose. I know the photo doesn’t look as sharp as irl, but I tried 😅

Use a asaro head as referenace. That one is great to study light. There are plenty low-poly models for all head out there. They give you an abstract understanding of facial mapping points.
And take a look at imperssionisim. There is a reason why less is more. Understanding that will improve your process.
