hello, I’m chaer! and I’m on a mission to get better at art and actually learn the fundamentals properly

my learning goals:

  • training my eye to see values and identify shapes
  • shape design and shape language
  • better anatomy

here, I will be dumping my notes, progress, and resources I’ve used.

here’s some of my personal for-fun art to start! I’ve definitely come a long way over the years in terms of anatomy, color theory, and composition, but not everything comes naturally to me just yet and there’s even more I can learn before I can consider myself a pro painter

its definitely more of a challenge when dealing with softer shapes and softer shade transitions! i definitely could keep working on this to fix some of the anatomy mistakes and try to make the value shapes look better, but I’m tired and want to take a break lol
