If you see the whole head as a sphere, let's pretend the light is coming from the top of the character
Then you will see that top of the sphere is in light, and bottom of the sphere is in shadow
Apply that to other strands of the hair, where strand is turning towards ground, put shadow
In that case flat color of the hair is used as a light, and multiply layer with the gray blue color as the shadow
Refine from that point on
