At what point in studying and practicing am I good enough to move on to the next stage? And how long do people usually practice and study for? Is there a way to gauge the skill that I possess to be able to proceed? Should I for example, study gesture for 4 days then study anatomy for 3 days in a week then repeat for 2 weeks or should I study gesture for a week, then anatomy for a week, or just study gesture for a month until I feel like I'm good enough to try anatomy

Another thing with anatomy
When studying a specific body part or region, should I for example, study the whole body with each day dedicated to one specific part or, study one body part for a week, then keep going to the next body part for a week, rinse and repeat
Please also tell me about your personal experience/way when studying or practicing
There’s really no right way to study. If you’re new to art I recommend drawing things you enjoy. Maybe there’s a character you like, draw them!! That’s how I started out
The easy way to find out what you need to improve is looking at multiple drawings you’ve made and point out the flaws that seem to reappear in each one, but start with one thing at a time or else it’ll get very overwhelming very fast
I’ve never scheduled my studies EVER, for me it’s always been spontaneous
and most of the times I watch tutorials on things I’m not even currently interested in learning
Yeah learning art isn't really a linear process
There's so many techniques and methods and elements in art
You can practice whatever u want
As you learn your art will start looking better, then u push urself, and ur art will feel like it looks worse but that's actually because you're mixing in new things you've learned or trying to learn
But when drawing I never feel good enough to draw what I want and just end up mindlessly practicing, I know this is killing my motivation because I'm noticing how I've been drawing less and less. Is there any solution to this maybe to change my mentality
Stop practicing and do some finished work
