How should I do the eyes? Im new to digital!

I have no idea how to start the eyes or how to shade and color the drawing, any tips on digital are very welcome

i mean everyone has a different way of drawing eyes, i always start with an oval shape, and then i add in lines for the eyelids and eventually the pupil. I would then mess around with the size and positioning of the eye before I start really adding detail

how you shade depends on where the light source is coming from

if its directly above, to the side, on a diagonal it all affects where the shadows go

Colouring generally i like to start by colouring the whole face with a base colour thats in the middle of my tonal range, not too dark and not too light.

then i'll add in a darker shade to show where the shadows are

and then add lighter shades where the highlights are
