(paint tool sai 2) i've been trying to make it so that the min size of the brush is bigger than the max size of the brush but cant find the slider or settings to do so, any sai2 experts here?

im confused. you want the minimum size of the brush to be bigger than the maximum size?

#

i can really only guess at what youre trying to say until you return to discord, so im just going to throw out a couple guesses:

  • change brush size. those are the circles in the bottom left and change your actual brush size while other settings dictate your brush's behavior.
  • change "min size" to 100%. this will mean that your brush is always at 100% of its size regardless of your pen pressure (so effectively removes pressure)
  • open tool preference panel (very bottom left of the brush panel) and adjust prs. hard ↔️ soft. this changes the pressure sensitivity.
  • change brush type. this depends on what the goal is with your brush, but you might be using the wrong subtype for what youre doing.
#

seriously though. ill check back so please clarify with what you mean lol

sorry for the confusing phrasing lmao

#

this is what i meant (just an interpretation i havent figured it out yet)

#

i want the ends of the brush to be bigger than the middle

#

this is what it looks like right now

#

when i increase the min size to the max it looks like this

#

here's an example:

#

you see how anytime a line starts, ends or bend it gets slightly thicker?

#

that's what im trying to emulate in SAI2

unfortunately, i dont think sai has that natively. the closest brush i have achieves a similar effect by using a blot texture and scaling the texture <100% but its a very different look than what youre going for

#

my guess is that it isnt a feature since sai specializes in painting, but i hope youre able to find a solution or someone who knows the program better than me lol
