Ive been trying to improve my line work and using references help but something still just doesnt look right..? Does anyone have recommendations or anything I could try to improve faster??

There isn't really a way to improve fast.
At a certain point, it comes down to observation drawings. That's how most artists get good. Doing this is a step in the right direction, draw from real life too. Not just photographs.
I broke down the reference photo and overlayed it with your sketch.
I think the reason why it looks so weird to you is because the angle of the head is not right. If it helps, draw it straight and then rotate it later. In the second image, I rotated both the breakdown and your drawing. There are a few anatomical mistakes as well.
Doing these breakdowns will help you to see the flaws in your own observation, so they're really important.
