its been a week since i started and i have no idea on how to make things seem more neat.. i can see the imperfections yet i don't know how to fix them. how can i, a beginner, make this seem fun for me while simultaneously improving?

I'm a lazy guy just trying to pick up a new hobby for change, and i seem kinda disappointed honestly. i know the goal is to have more experience as time goes on — and to have fun of course, and not to "be better", but whenever I don't spend time learning art on my huge amounts of free time, i get guilty.. am i rushing things? i need some advice from more experienced artists. please and thank you^^

Honestly, when you’re just starting out the best advice I can give you is to just draw. I cannot stress enough how much you’re able to learn from yourself just by drawing what you want, and USING REFERENCES

As a beginner, right now you’re trying to learn how to build up line confidence and how to copy the shapes you see in references. This comes just from drawing whatever you want. It won’t match at first. You’ll draw an eye and wonder why it doesn’t look like the photo you’re using. So, if you can, trace over the eye. Identify the shapes you see when you trace and then freehand it yourself again.

A lot of beginners get too caught up in the quality of their shading, colors, having an art style, etc.

Just focus on building up your shape language and proportions. Once your drawings start matching what you see more, you’ll have the confidence to add in the other fundamentals.

That’s my advice, I hope it helps.
If there’s one thing you take from this, use. References.

Use references. Try to make sure that everytime you draw, you learn smthn. Even if it's as small as holding your pencil like 1 degree lower, it's still something.
