Ive been doing a few studies on arcane and its general layout as i love the lineless look, and ive decided to try an attempt for myself. Unsuprisingly, the hair is being extremely annoying and I cant seem to get it right beyond the initial blocking of the shapes. 
Any help/critique on the hair, or in general, is incredibly appreciated!

i think its because the arcane hairstyles look more realistic
in arcane nothing is ever really round
as for the hair try using a flat brush on low opacity to add a tiny gradient first
and then one color for the darker overlapping hair and another forwhere the light shines
so in terms of sharp hair i would say maybe something like this
