Personally (might have heard it before), i think you should study the fundamentals. You'll make a lot of progress and yes. Your art will get better. The values and colours, aka shading, is what you should learn later, after you get a grasp of the basics. In my opinion L_Keane

Not really. The fundamentals are: anatomy, perspective, composition, colour theory and value
