#how can I improve my art?

I almost had such a state while in my early years of Illustration.
My advice to you is that you study the works of your favourite artists ( Imean study not copy). Do this by looking at how you they do what they do and pick only the things you like ..
The truth is that developing a style comes from drawing and sketching over and over. No one can attain a style by mere thinking, it requires constant practice to reach a level where your mind and body expresses lines in the same direction
I like your artworks. I dont understand why you dont like them hahahah .. Buh i understand so that the issue do more studies and practice alot
With time yu will realise that your outputing a diff. energy from that you had time back
study anatomy too
It will boost your workflow because you will be drawing with passion
I understand. Anatomy is a life time journey for every artist. Just keep practicing haha
Okkie no problem with that.. Will be looking forward to hearing from you again . You might also share as a DM if you okay with it
hahaha you have got it . Just afew more sketches to stabilise
Hii I'm no expert but I recommend you to try out new things, different coloring styles, change your rendering, draw more realistic or cartoony, however you want. It probably won't turn out how you imagine it to be but you'll experience. And my biggest of all note the things you like while trying these, like how you drew eyes on that piece? work on it and add it to your work. Like how colors look on this drawing? select mainly that hue. (idk if I'm saying this right.) Soo that's my advice. And changing your style usually means going back a lot of steps so dont push urself too hard 💕💕
just wanted to say that the colors on the avatar one are GORGEOUS
You're welcome 🩷🩷
I am happy for you.
@wintry gazelle and also do much gesture studies, it will boost your ability to landa character sketches
I wish you the best
Keep the sketches coming
This is super cool
The right hand is abit bigger and also you may need to study the anatomy of the arms. THe left one is okay
I mean the real right hand hahah
Keep drawing
Thats cool
we can DM we be sharing works and critiques
okkay no problem
lemme share a friend request
oops i cant add you
maybe try adding me
I have receieved it ..
Damn that Looks cool
I think it's because you don't give much Details in the Sketch phase
Wich is why they seem boring
Exactly, If ya want a good looking Sketch you need more Details and Line weigh
Well okay then i shall only say Line weigh xD
Ohmygosh howdyou do that they look awesome 🤩
how can I improve my art as a whole?
hi! i love the study you did. character building definitely has a lot to do with character silhouettes and shape explorations. I don't have a lot of advices when it comes to character building as i've yet to explore that route but i suppose in terms of sketching, it helps to really be less precious with your lines and just explore.
it's a tricky subject, speaking from personal experience it's like i have to condition myself before I even begin drawing that " ok today it's all gonna be about exploring and not making things look perfect" and this just set's the mood to get out of what I know is right and encourage doing new things even if it looks wacky.
then I take what I learn from that, refine it and make things makes sense.
oh yea idk if you know this already but there's this thing robert does with his b&w sketches where he included the occlusion shadows to add depth to his sketches but it also adds some character and acts as details. it's peppered here and there but it just brings the whole thing together.
no worries! i'm happy i could help even a little bit
how can I improve my art?
Critique on the left one: the jacket around her waste starts to blend in with her hair since they're the same color. Im not sure what animal this is in specific but I can tell its a rodent of some sort, depending on the rodent the hair might go a little too far back on the cranium.
I love the little chochskies on her bag and her expression! I also love how u add green and purple into the sketchlineart it looks soooooo pretty!!!
(im nitpicking because ur asking for crituiqe and I feel like all anyone is doing is complimenting you and obviously you wanna know how to improve🫶) Im going to assume you drew the hair first or at the same time as the face, and that typically causes the proportions of the face to get moved by the hair, specifically the eyes are really high up and close together than a typical human would be, it doesn't look bad its very stylized and honestly really good work just something to be mindful of when placing hair in the middle of the face
Oh if they're cats I would suggest shortening the snout, cats have more round compact faces 🫶
Yeah I personally always draw the base head and then the hair just because my style is a little more realistic and it makes sure I get proportions correct no matter how I decide to style it
Awwww really?!!? That's so cute, do u have a reference??
Oh I see! Ok that makes a lot of sense with how you drew it
Yeah based on ur ref I think that the base facial structure was done well, just making sure not to over extend the cranium on that specific piece
Ur style is lovely btw
Omg I love love love the experimenting with body proportions and form! I would suggest taking a look at some of Chris Sandersons work, he's most know for lilo and stitch🥰
What expression is the character supposed to have?
You might make his smile more prevalent, the dimples kindof seem out of place since he's so neutral with his mouth but the rest of his face says he's happy
Ahh the design is so cute and pretty! U could try exaggerating the flower motif more? Personally I love the colors! The sleeves having multiple greens is especially appealing, you might try doing that with the rest of her clothing
I think ur flat noses are adorable but you tend to always do them, always feel free to experiment and try out other peoples ideas in your own studies!
Also im sorry if ur only ever getting my feedback lol, I would feel bad if I just left you without smth😅
I LOVE the shape of the first one, idk how I feel about the hair though I think im just used to ur hair being more rendered. Also think the neck might be a little too long proportionally
The horse one is so good omg, as for the landscapes: on either side your only using cool or warms tones respectively, personally I prefer making the shadows and highlights opposites( warm vs cool) I find that it tends to be more realistic in a sense.
