I'm having problems with the shoulder. The arm entirely. It looks like a stick or it looks like they're stiff. What can I change in order to make them look less stiff. I also want to give them more emotions bc it looks like it's emotionless

I love this pose! the anatomy isnt too far off, the bicep section just needs to be a little longer. While there is that small issue, one that I think can actually help the "Livleyness" of this pose would be to switch up the compisition. Human brains go crazy for contrast, so in compisition you want a good mix of angles, shapes, and balences of negative space. To try and explain this on your piece, right now she is leaning to the right, tilting her head to the right, and her arm gives a pretty strong leading line pointing to the right. Now of course you can have an angled compisition, but if you were to picture her silhouette it would kind of just look like an angled tube. Something that I think could stop the "Stiffness" that you mentioned would be to move the angle of her arm. By positioning the elbow outside of the body the arm can create a natural triangle (Something human brains love) and it can also break up the very clustered right leaning compisition. This way, the composition will look more balanced and the pose will look more dynamic.

I already love this drawing so of course I dont want you to tear it apart with changes. but for any future refrence, for an even more livley pose there are a few things you can push (If that is what you are going for of course):

#
  1. You already have a good angle on the shoulders (Its always good to offset them), but I would just push it a little farther and pop the left shoulder up a little more, make it look like it being raised is a purposful action by the character.

  1. Just like I mentioned before, humans like contrast, so in posing its always good to see if you can alternate the position of different body parts. An example in this piece could by to push the right hip up a bit to contrast the angle of the shoulders (a raised hip can also create a nice triangle/angle along the right side of the torso). Another thing you can think of is the angle of the head, currently it is very aligned with the spine (Which is perfectly fine, but if you just want to push that dynamicness even further), its creates a lot of movement if you misalign that head. All depending on the pose, but you could either push the head further to the left or angle it over to the right.

P.S It can also help the pose a bit to move the breast area up. I dont suggest puting any detail or definition or anything, just have the bump that goes outwards a little more up (This can help the torso/ribcage look like its pointing up, thus pushing an idea that her head is tilting down, and adding contrast to the position of the pelvis

I kind of ramble when I explain things, so feel free to ask for clarification. (PPS I love your art! the movement in the hair is really pretty and you slayed on that hand wow!)
