I have been trying to find a good colour for the background for a solid 30 mins, nothing is working out. It either washes out her skin tone or washes out the colour of the dress. I would love some suggestions. Hexcodes code also help immensely ( and i dont wanna draw the actually background,which is just a crowd of people behind her in the met gala)

use this, its red tinted to stand out from the dress but grey tones enough to let her skin stand out.
you could also gradient it toward the bottom to help stand out
