And don't just give me a video without telling me how it's actually done. The videos I've watched explain what I should be doing but now how to do it. I need show, don't tell type advice for this, and how to actually move my arm and where I should keep it in accordance to my body. Every time I try to use my entire arm to draw, it hurts. Every time I try to rest my arm and draw with it, It's either incredibly messy or I just revert to using my wrist nine out of ten times out of habit, and end up having to look down at my hand every second while I am sketching. Is there no easier way to do this?

So the first part is me drawing with my fingers and wrist. Second part is drawing with my arm. It basically means dont rely on your fingers and wrist for all of what you are doing. Especially when you are focusing on general shape. If youre doing tiny details then its fine but isnt very reliable when it comes to keeping lines smooth and fluid

Im confused why youre trying to learn to draw wiht your whole arm if it hurts you?

it doesnt hurt if I rest my entire arm on my desk, the issue is it's easier to maintain the movement while having both my arm and hand raised, and not rested on my desk

#

if I have it rested on the desk habit kicks in, and I start using my wrist again

smoother lines, control over my art, and it'll force me to look more at the whole project

You could use a wrist brace to force your wrist into staying straight. You dont need anything fancy. Also dont make it tight. It just being wrapped around your wrist is enough

that could work

#

or I could just do it enough, for all I know it's a muscle that I've neglected and it'll stop hurting when I do it enough

thanks for the suggestions
