spf soft fail when I try to configure the email. and when I check original message it shows that DMARC fails on gmail
It seems like you're experiencing issues with SPF and DMARC configuration for your email setup.
For the SPF soft fail, I recommend checking the DNS lookup limits for your SPF records. According to the Sender Policy Framework (SPF) specification, there's a limit of 10 DNS lookups required to fully resolve an SPF record. If your SPF records exceed this number, it might cause issues. You can check your SPF records and DNS lookups in the Cloudflare DNS manager. For more information, please refer to the documentation on DNS lookup limits: https://developers.cloudflare.com/dmarc-management/dns-lookup-limits/
Regarding the DMARC failure on Gmail, it's possible that your DMARC policy is not correctly configured or is not being applied. You can check your DMARC records and policy in the Cloudflare DMARC Management dashboard. Make sure that DMARC Management is enabled and that your DMARC records are correctly set up. For more information, please refer to the documentation on enabling DMARC Management: https://developers.cloudflare.com/dmarc-management/enable/
If you're still experiencing issues, please provide more details about your setup and configuration, and I'll try to help you troubleshoot the problem.
can u help me directly can I provide u more info and u solve it for me
I'm unable to provide an answer to that at the moment. Please rephrase your query and I'll try again.
However, I can guide you through the process of troubleshooting the issue. Please provide more information about your setup and configuration, such as:
- Your domain name
- Your email service provider (e.g. Gmail, AWS SES)
- Your DNS provider (e.g. Cloudflare)
- Your SPF and DMARC records
- Any error messages you're seeing
I'll do my best to help you identify the issue and provide guidance on how to resolve it.
Which email service are you using for sending emails?
gmail is for @gmail.com addresses, not for sending from your domain
You are using Cloudflare Email Routing, but that is only for receiving emails, not for sending.
u can send emails too, but they get put in all mail
previously they were not showing up in all mail but rather the primary mailbox
not sure what happened
by previously I meant just yesterday
No, you can't send emails with Email Routing.
but I have previously
look
it was via gmail tho
That has nothing to do with Email Routing
Email Routing is only for receiving emails.
but I watched a whole video on it u can send and receive emails using gmail by implementing cloudflare
i have done some stuff behind the scenes on gmail as well
Yes, I know this "trick" where people use gmail to send emails from a custom domain and Email Routing for receiving them.
oh i never knew it was some kind of thing like that
But the sending has nothing to do with email routing.
oh ok thats really interesting
thanks
the weird part is if I change some DNS records the email gets sent without being flagged as spam, but then I cant recieve emails
In any case, that "trick" will tell you to add Google to your SPF record, which you haven't done.
do u know how to or where i can find help for that
I dont completely understand this stuff to be honest im just doing whatever the internet tells me
