I did something silly messing with iPod 5.5th gen firmware (something custom I'm working on) on the assumption these can be unbricked easily like a 6th gen classic. I guess they can't… because I can't get past the Apple logo. (specific details: I think the device literally doesn't have firmware on it right now, because the filename was wrong in the manifest.plist in the ipsw)
disk mode key combo doesn't work, pretty sure we've been doing it right. the disk comes up but no iPod ever appears in Finder. am I cooked?
