Battery only showing 15%

My iPod Video with an iFixit replacement batt is for some reason not showing battery above like 15%, despite it still lasting for ages. It's always in the red even though i left it on charge overnight. It lasts an hour or 2 playing video at max brightness (i was just doing that to test it), and then it starts bootlooping until i plug it back in.

update 2 the healing power of usb 2.0 revivied it but it still suffers from the problem the post mentions

All you can do is to try to push it through multiple full cycles of full charge and discharge. Sometimes it helps the charging circuitry to "learn".
