ipod not charging

so i found my dads old ipod 5th gen after sitting for 10 years and i had to disassemble it to get it to charge but now its not charging at all or i have to try to get in a spot that it likes for it to start charging

HEIC file format is not yet widely supported, I cannot see in in up-to-date windows 11.
After 10 years you probably need a new battery

The battery lasts a few hours just it won’t charge at all

What charger do you connect it to?
is the dock connector clean and looks OK?

in diag mode you can see if charger is detected at all.

Force reboot (hold center+menu) and when it restarts press and hold center+left,
