I have a horizontal black line across my ipod 5th gen's screen that goes most of the way across, and it's only there when the backlight is on.
If I turn the backlight off and look at the screen it's not there anymore,but comes back as soon as the backlight is on.

Its pixel perfect lines that are the exact same width all the way across so I doubt its the battery
