try and put it back in place

if it will at all

usually this is why people don't lift the connector latch and instead just pull the battery lead out without opening it. you can reinstall it like this too

The latch looks intact - all the "latching" parts are still there, so if carefully put back it should work - especially if the main part of the socket it still on the board untouched.
