hi!! new to modding so bare with!
looking into modding my 7th gen classic and just browsing parts and doing maths, looking at plates and stuff on Elite Obsolete Electronics and i’ve a few questions!
a) are they a trusted site? if not what are some alternatives (im in the uk if that makes any difference)
b) for backplates should i be buying it with pre-installed headphone/dock bezel or is that more trouble? /gen

Being in EU I prefer to buy stuff on Aliexpress - especially now when the tariffs war started. Most of the new parts in EOE offer comes from China anyway.
Only for parts for older models it makes sense to buy from EOE.
a) EOE is generally trustworthy, but they have some issues (check the reports online) as any small company. Plus the main one for us in European zone - double VAT payment (at some point they were collecting the VAT up front and not putting the info on the package so you had to pay it again in local customs)
b) There is usually no issue with transferring the bezels - 2-3 screws and you are done. Makes sense to by a new set only if yours' are in bad shape.
