trying to get my brothers old 6g up and running but its just showing a white screen. occasionally i can get it to boot into a gray screen but its also entirely blank. is it a drive issue or does it need a new display?

This could be a totally flat battery issue.

I've had this happen with 5th gens, the board's F'ed

Or, Jakubd could be right with the flat battery. Try replacing that or letting charge overnight.
