I had a 5th Gen classic with an iflash solo 128gb that worked perfectly but I wanted to swap in a 5.5 mobo. I swapped it and am trying to restore it. I had to put it into disk mode to get iTunes to be able to restore it. Once the restore finishes the iPod just bootloops. The iPod I bought to take the 5.5 mobo from worked before I took it apart, so I'm not sure what the next step is.

I would put back the mobo in the original ipod and check again if it still works fine.
I tried cleaning the SD card with DISKPART on my windows PC and now it worked after restoring!
iPod 5.5 gen bootlooping after restore (resolved)
Probanly the card was formated in GUID instead of MBR?
I did try formatting it separately just in my MacBook with disk utility but I still had the same issue
Then I read online about cleaning it out with windows diskpart
It worked immediately and I didn't have to boot the iPod into disk mode for it to be able to be restored like I had to previously
