Soooo I just bought an iPod photo and it's charges funky, my meter shows 0.05 amp from usb and around 0.60 when the drive is working, is it okay? Cable is apple original with clips and works fine with my 7th gen, wall adapter is original too, although it's labeled "apple 12w power adapter", and I think it originates from an iPad.
I know that both 4th gens were shipped with FireWire wall charger, so maybe it's supposed to charge from one?

Firewire is recommend for older ipods
mostly for charging, photo syncs fine on usb

I charge my 4th gen monochrome with a usb ipad brick as well. New battery. Works eventually, but takes forever. Sits partway charged for a long time. I'm sure firewire would solve it.
