basically when i plug in the drive into the ipod
when plugged into the wall: it stays on the apple logo forever
when plugged into a computer: it freezes on the battery charging screen
its not a problem with the drive, the drive works on my photo, and trying a flash mod it simply brings up the dead ipod screen
ive tried using my photo's hard drive ribbon but that doesnt work either
any help or is it cooked

one thing to add is that the ipod worked before
with the hard drive
however one day when trying to boot it up it simply started clicking and bootlooping so i removed the drive and plugged it back
and now im here

Sounds a lot like a dead board, I’ve had many 4th gen boards die in a similar way

i dont think it could be
i did get it to pick up a drive and to fully work but then after disconnecting and reconnecting the hard drive cable after something
it died
so i think it could just be a connection issue?
if so how could i clean it
ive cleaned the hard drive connector pins with IPA
