Ipod touch 4th gen absolutely thrashed, wont turn on

I will most likely attempt to repair the screen later, however right now I just want to get the data off of it. it wont turn on after charging for a hour, and I cant connect it to itunes or anything. what should I do?

i would recommend opening it up to see any damage on the inside. As it cant do anything after charging it is liekly motherboard or dock connector damage
