I cannot figure out what the "Map Pin Icons" reward is and I cannot tell if it is bugged. No one has been able to provide me an answer. Several people keep saying they increase the number of pins I can place, but that's the other reward "Max Map Pins". I have not posted a formal report yet as I'd like more feedback first in case I am just misunderstanding what the reward is.
Additional information: I know someone with level 47 in this skill, and they do not have additional icon types to place, still only squares and circles. New icons would be cool though.

So I'm close to 50 Treasure Cartography and I really have no idea what the difference is between +1 to Available Map Pin Icons (Permanently) and +1 to Max Map Pins (per map) (permanently) is. The way the former is worded suggests new pin icons - something other than circle and square - should become accessible. But that clearly isn't what's happened for me.
If it's something like getting X map pins above the per-map pins that are used last, after the per-map pins, but are shared across all maps, then... there has to be a better way to word it.

That's a holdover from the old Map UI; currently that reward does nothing. There used to be more icons you could toggle through to put on the map.
There's some plans tucked away somewhere for adding something like that back to the map, so I'm hesitant to remove that reward entirely.. but maybe theres a way I can hide in the meantime.. 🤔
