You can change the colors to suit yourself. Everybody's is different.

Reduce clicking in game by setting Select Next Non-Combatant and Use Selected keys.

You can also turn off the nameplates of other players and just leave NPC ones

Changing it is of course very easy but I will say when I first started, I ran past the NPC in the tower like three times before I realised he was there because all I saw was a group of players. Once I realised my mistake I went and changed the colour, but it would be a nice little QoL change if they were different by default

Colors between PC and NPC should be different by default AND people should still be able to choose what they want.
