When I cast the line on Angling, these strands of yellow-green start floating all around me.
I have everything below target framerate slider unchecked... so nothing fancy really going on, framerate locked at 40...

ah and this only happens when I cast the line, the other things seem to be behaving as normal.... I just have that perpetual strand effect the whole time
as a bonus, I can see it on others too when they're angling

That's one of the indicators telling you which button to press.
You'll have to experiment to figure out which command it's telling you to do! But in the future, when angling that fish, you'll be pressing that button for that graphic.

No... i get that aura at all times... even before the fish is hooked. Instant i press tge start angling button. The other effects that are on me, or the fish, all continue to happen as usual on top of that aura.

Right, the “star effect” there is different from the Angling visual prompts.

Have this problem too. This particle appear when casting the line and can disappear only in case when the fish particle effect have the same effect, in any other case it will be with character until the end angling process 🥺
