Not sure what is going on, but my game is always crashing. I could be walking, riding, in town, talking to NPC, or anything else. Seems very random, was working pretty good yesterday but today i've already crashed 7 times in 5 minutes. My computer is completely up-to date as with my drivers. And I even lowered the graphics to poor, nothing is helping.

So for those who may also be having random crashing issues, I looked in EventViewer, and there was another App that I don't even use anymore that was crashing right before Project Gorgon would, so I just removed that app, and now it seems to be working so far
Not sure why it caused so many problems today and not yesterday, but I will post if I have any further issues.
app name?
GCC, gigabyte control center. Was trying to update bios with it awhile back, didn’t work and just left it installed
I'm having the same problem. I'm constantly crashing . I did the same thing and found tobii eye tracker running on start up. removed that and I think it stopped my crashing.
Same issue here for me - every 10-40 mins my game stutters, freezes, and then crashes. WindowsPlayer.exe comes up as an error sometimes if I wait to close it down, but the crash is always the same. Really a bummer
Ok so it did not fix my issue and I've checked my event viewer and I see the same WindowsPlayer.exe being the culprit.
If you haven't been, make sure to send in your player logs as described here! #1426391846233571399 message
to my knowledge, windowsplayer.exe IS Project Gorgon
I am also having an absurd amount of frequent crashes. Could be from doing nothing, entering a city, or opening menu. Most often it bricks my entire PC and then I have to force restart by holding power button. 🙁
Yes, please DM me your player.logs and crash.dmp files when you crash! The more info the better. Im trying to hunt down as many of the crashes as I can, but they are hard to pin down.
Here's a few things you may be able to try to see if they alleviate the crashes:
- Update GPU drivers
- Disable overlays (discord, any others; sometimes graphics programs like nvidia control panel have an overlay active)
- Run the game with forced graphics single-threading (instructions here: #1419423864001400842 message)
- Clear GPU/Shader cache
Will try these and send what logs I can get and those going forward. Thank you.
apparently, that doesnt seem to be a Windows Issue because for some reason iam crashing on my Linux Laptop as well
But iam not crashing on my Linux PC at home, both use Bazzite
Difference is, my Laptop has NVIDIA GPU while my PC has AMD only
Well for my fellow Linux users:
i changed compability from default to Proton GE latest version and havent crashed for 15min+
my game didnt last even 2-3min before
I THINK I FIXED IT!
I followed this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2794925509
And so far I've played for over an hour without a crash. Try it and let everyone know if it works for you.
Ok, I just crashed. BUT it took over an hour for it to happen. so it may be better.
I've had crashes from the gaming crashing to desktop, hard crashing my computer, or freezing my computer to where I have to force restart with power button. I've never had a game crash so many times before.
I think I may have another solution but first a question. In the event I have an integrated GPU and a dedicted GPU, is there a way to determine which is being used by PG when playing?
I ask because I dropped my graphics down to the lowest setting (-2) and have not experienced crashes. Normally, I run on the highest setting at 4k because I have a 4080tx. But If I"m running that and my integrated intel gpu is running it... well I can see that causing problems.

Perhaps try this property and see if that helps.
I read somehwere about a fix for multi-threadding not playing well with Unity. Does anyone have a link or idea about that? I'm still having frequent crashes only when in cities/high pulated areas
Could you be talking about this? #1419423864001400842 message
TL;DR add -force-gfx-st to your startup params to force single-threaded rendering
