Every single new player wants a horse and they are constantly asking and getting the explanation in chat. To help them out, I suggest having one wild horse roving the tutorial island. Make it untameable, but petable. Name it Lawara's hungry pony and give her a quest where she explains the process of getting a horse to the new player and suggests they find their own if they ever escape. The quest could be as simple as giving a small treat to the horse, for a small reward from her.
