It doesn't have to be a modal error or anything, the game engine doesn't break, but you won't get the behaviour you want. This way people can know it's already bound and take action or not.

Isn't that a thing already? Pretty sure I got a warning that I'm overwriting an existing bind a few times

nvm, might be another thing the unity update broke. It defo was a thing before but I tested just now and it doesn't do the warning anymore

Yeah it does let you know. When saving I think. Or at least it did if its true something broke.
