- Chat Tabs, Chat Box, and Chat selection should also scale with "Chat Text Size" or be seperately configurable. Otherwise you end up in a strange situation where you can read the chat but you can barely read what channel you are in or the text that you write.
- Item Info Text. This text is impossibly small in relationship to the rest of the UI or any other text size, making it very hard to read the text in many cases, and creating weird scenarios where title case is much larger than the text. The dark brown on beige color scheme, further exacerbates this issue. (see screenshot)

I think tweaking with the UI scaling factor might be the problem/solution
Some types of text in game don't have their own sizing options. Depending on what you change, you can make some text really large while the rest is really smol.
My old eyes would really love to be able to resize that text.
@spring hornet my ui sizing is just fine. I just want to make the tiny text readable.

Not sure, but like I said before, perhaps try tweaking with the UI scaling first, then adjusting the font sizes elsewhere when there is an option in settings (like for chatbox text)

There is UI scaling and dedicated scaling for specific text. But I couldnt find any scaling for the text mentioned in this report.

I think if it's not a bug then it's definitely a QOL thing, and thus a "bug". If getting UI text to be readable for tired eyes (mine) is a pain, then that might need some attention. You aren't the first player to encounter this odd behavior of the UI with regard to text 🤓 , and I suspect there are others that have the same/a similar issue.

I think its absurd that we are expected to make our ui this big to read specific text while there is no way to resize it.
When the text is so small that its impossible to read at a normal UI size, from my perspective that's a bug.
Same as if the text was displayed dark gray on black. Yes the text is technically there, but its so difficult to read that I consider it a bug.

Nope, it's only GUI Scale that affects that particular text sizing.
Perhaps @polar jay might have some insight on a workaround or fix?
Also, higher GUI Scale = smaller text (for the affected fonts, at least)
If it required a slightly larger GUI scale, I'd have no issue. Its because it requires that you choose between scaling the ui so obnoxiously large that it becomes unplayable or be unable or barely able to read the text, that I have an issue.
You wouldn't know it, but that screenshot above is fullscreen on my monitor.
That's kind of what mine looks like, but less crowded and I'm not sure why. GUI Scale is 1.2 for me
From my perspective the screenshot above is basically unplayable because the UI takes up so much space you can barely see the game world.
You have to make decisions like choosing to view your Inventory, or enter a battle because you can't do both at that scale.

There is nothing that scales that text box. I'm not a touch typer, I would just like to see what I am typing because I am anal about typos
So it's not even consistent across the Info window with the same settings on the same character. Inclined to think this needs some attention.

Sonci, I didn't consider that. But you're right. As a touch typer not scaling the text input is just an inconveience. But for those who don't it would force them to use an unplayable ui size or squint until their eyes hurt.
Hey, yep yall are right that all of that text should be resizable. I'll see about hooking it up to some existing settings, or creating new ones for it. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

This should be "fixed" now. The chat input should scale properly (though the tabs still do not), and there are new settings for adjusting window sizes & popup sizes. In particular, the Quest Log, Recipes, & Item Info windows are adjustable via the new "Windows Text Size" setting.
It turned out to be a pretty big effort, time-wise, because the UI is quite complicated with a lot of moving parts. So I prioritized what I believe to be the most impactful windows. If there's one that I missed that you all think could benefit from this treatment, let me know! (though I reserve the right to put it further down in my backlog 😅 )
