This is a public service announcement that requires a ping of this magnitude. if you're ever so slightly unhappy over a ping we do once every 6 months (at this stage) then it's not my problem.

Recently the number of public methods that involve phishing and ratting Skyblock accounts is peaking at its maximum point right now, as these people are using every single trick on the book on an attempt to even gain a few new accounts. The number of people losing their accounts is only growing by the second. so im using this time to make a very important announcement.

Several of these methods involve you inputting your info on a fake Microsoft login, bypassing even Microsoft's 2FA and losing your entire control of the account. Others outright steal everything you have, including your Discord account, via the methods of ratting, such as downloading ilicit mods.
I will highlight most of these common methods seen in Public Skyblock Areas:

1 - "Quitting Skyblock"- These accounts invite you to a phishing discord, which features a fake "Microsoft" verification method. Do not enter your information to those servers.
2 - Fake MVP++ - only affects MVP+ users, and a LOT of people are unaware this is a scam until its too late. Phished MVP++ users party everyone who's MVP+ and give them a fake "MVP++" link to claim through Housing text. A lot of people, even dudes i know are very careful about account security, have lost their accounts to this method. Remember, the only way to obtain MVP++ is inside a Hypixel Lobby, and the gift is shown through a Book text.

3 - Ilicit Mods- This has been around for over a year at this stage, and people are still unaware of its actions. You download a fake modification masquerading as a useful skyblock mod however it is in fact hiding an information stealer or infostealer for short, the general purpose of info stealers is to grab as much personal data as possible including tokens, passwords, email addresses & files. never, ever install a mod that is not one of the official ones.

On that note, we recommend using only the following Main Skyblock QOL Modifications:

• Skytils
• Not Enough Updates (NEU)
• Skyblock Addons (SBA)
• Skyblock Extras (SBE)
• Dungeon Rooms Mod (DRM)

There are a few more i haven't listed, but keep in mind they must come from reliable and trusted users. If its some random idiot giving you the file, it's a ratter.

4 - Discord Servers - The number of illegal Discord Servers are catapulting to an alarming rate. All of these have 1 thing in common - feature the "Fake Microsoft" login. Entering your information through that login will cause you to lose your account.
5 - Guild Recruiting - Even random guild recruiting is being affected. The worst part is, it looks to be legit, but they invite you to yet another illegal Discord Server with the fake Microsoft verification.
6 - "Offering Services" - Not even this is safe anymore. People will offer you a fake service, and do the SAME bloody thing of inviting you to the illegal Discord Server. we recommend using servers like SkyBlockZ (ours), Skyblock Simplified (SBS), Skyblock Maniacs (SBM), FragBots, among others, to get your actual services done. Ignore any ilicit server with the microsoft verification. Safe discord servers use Hypixel's API system to link your account.

It's not that frequent anymore that i ping the Announcements role, but i'm getting this information out for your own safety.
It's up to you if you wish to uphold this information for your own needs, just wanted to get this announced.

👑 1. The Technoblade Memorial 👑

Today marks 1 year since the Skyblock Legend himself, Technoblade, unfortunately left us behind. However, even though it has been a year, we will continue to honor everything he has done for us. For the following week, you can join the honoring of his legacy by acquiring the Technoblade Role by heading towards the #1045512189475295232 channel. This role will be permanent, but will only be available once a year every June 30th starting from today. The role will take over the server as well, coloring everyone who has it in a gorgeous pink.

Even though he's still dearly missed, he wants us to continue forward having long and successful lifes. So let's honor his words.

2. The SkyBlockZ Townhall

We're excited to announce our newest project: The SBZ Townhall!
This will be a bimonthly event where the staff team groups up with the community in order to overall improve Quality of Life on the server, engage with everyone present, and announce new changes and improvements to make SBZ better. With this, we're also viewing the posibility of Event Revivals, but it depends on the initial reaction by the community.
Prix and i will host this first townhall where we'll mainly talk about many suggestions that were left pending.

The first townhall is scheduled to happen after <t:1690740000:D>. After that it will switch to happening at the first weekend of every other month!

IMPORTANT

Serious problems highlighting Discord's Terms of Service

in recent days i've been having more and more highlighted reports of people getting Discord Strikes for messages highlighting the abbreviation of Chestplate (you all should know this), not just from recent days, but messages as far back as 2020 have been striked by Discord's moderation team due to "endangering child safety", despite the message clearly having a different meaning in itself.

We blacklisted the abbreviation in SBZ as a precaution 2 months ago, since it also happened to one of our own staff members. I didnt want to make it public yet, but now its hit every server and its disastrous.

We recommend to EVERYONE to delete every single message that has any mention of the abbreviation, as more and more people are getting strikes by it, no matter how far back it goes. This is to protect your own account and prevent it from getting terminated.
And only say it in the full form of Chestplate, or if there's any other abbreviation that uses it (because its actually common in video game vocabulary, including my own Pokemon Go), do not use the abbreviation no matter what.

PSA: Compromised SkyHanni Versions: 7.0.0, 7.16.1, 8.0.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2

Hello <@&726871365486903416>, something happened on Skyblock that required a huge ping of this caliber.

There was a recent exploit that allowed an attacker to publish 5 malicious SkyHanni versions.

Mainly SkyHanni versions starting with 8 are affected, which are: 7.0.0, 7.16.1, 8.0.0, 8.0.1, and 8.0.2

The previously safe versions 7.16.1, and 7.0.0 were overwritten with malicious versions (which unfortunately was not detected until after dealing with the obvious malicious versions)

These were only up for a period of a few minutes, and were deleted asap. If your autoupdater updated to one of these versions and you haven't yet launched the game with this new version, please close the game and delete these versions from your mod folder IMMEDIATELY.

Your auto-updater will not upgrade to a compromised version anymore, as they were removed. Modrinth versions weren't affected, but you still shouldn't update to any of these versions.

These were deleted. SkyHanni won't update you to deleted versions, check your mods folder to make sure you're not on one of these versions before starting the game again. If you are planning to update Skyhanni, we suggest waiting for a few days before redownloading Skyhanni.

If you don't have these versions downloaded, then you have nothing to worry about. The attack vector was closed (keep an eye out for 8.0.X versions just in case).

As an addition, avoid SkyHanni updates through GitHub until it is fully confirmed to be 100% safe. Modrinth SkyHanni should still keep an eye, but it should be safe. Just dont update to any of the affected versions.

Community Events are making a comeback!

This Sunday July 12th at 12 pm PST, join us for our first community event this year! We will be doing a doubles bedwars tournament.

How will this work?

Every other Sunday we will be doing events/mini games. The event landing voice channel will be open to 64 members only. The voice channel will open up starting at 11:30 am PST for those who would like to reserve their spot early. Be aware if you go afk, there is a chance you will lose your spot by the time you come back. Once all 64 spots are filled, we will begin the games at 12 PM PST. Please be early, since the channel will open half an hour before, there’s a chance by 12 PM PST there’s no longer any spots.

Will there be any prizes?

Yes each event will have their own set of prizes. Grand Prize will be rewarded to the winner, and various other prizes will be handed out depending on the activity.

Welcome everyone to SkyblockZ's FIRST official event: The Treasure Hunt!

Now, seeing as this is our very first event, we wanted to kick things off with a bang! Ultimately, the prize awarded to the first place finisher of this event shall be a 50mil Midas sword!.

Because we felt others might feel downcast if they fell just short of winning, there will also be seven Easter eggs scattered throughout the event containing prizes of up to 15million coins. Remember though, there are huge prizes at stake, so it was only natural for us to have made a very difficult event... So try not to rage quit, only the most determined will win! As a final warning, i advise you all to pay close attention to the brief introduction following this, as it will help you greatly in your quest to solving the event team's first ultimate puzzle.

...there are a total of Eight clues. In order to move on from one clue to the next, it is required for one to directly Message unique keywords to bots; essentially, if you believe you have found a keyword specific to a certain clue (for example... "mushy Pear") then you would dm a bot the words "mushy...", etc. Obviously, once solved and answered correctly, you will be greeted with instructions to find the next keyword. Regardless of the fact that your answer is one letter off or just plain wrong, if your guess is incorrect, it will be ignored.

To solve the final puzzle, you will need to use information gathered from all the clues you have solved to obtain the final keyword. After stringing all the information together, you must think outside the box and keep an open mind to figure out the final word. Nothing in this event was made easy. There will be some clues that were intended to take lots of time and scrutiny to solve...

Many of you guys have probably heard about the Akinsoft Situation and there's been doubts recently about the validity about the videos at hand.
Having been invited to the call with both the victim as well as many other reputable members (Including the Hypixel Admin Hasco), I can confirm that there is nothing fake about the claims and the conversations are real.

Akinsoft truly committed some absolutely vile and unspeakable acts. This is by far the worse situation that's happened in the Skyblock Community to date.
Even worse instead of addressing it, he is trying to brush off the claims and lie about his innocence.

The victim has previously tried to expose him last year but Akinsoft was able to deflect it and thus it wasn't known to the public until now.

I want to mention that if this situation or a similar type of situation is happening to you or someone you know, please speak out about it.
If you don't have anyone to contact you can always reach out to any of the Admins or above here on SkyBlockZ - @arctic stratus @karmic ridge @heady sorrel and myself.
Never keep it in even if you are scared of the backlash. That is how abusers like Akinsoft were able to get away from this in the first place.

2. Two Trading Channel Changes

Firstly to officially announce that lowball/flip buy-offers are not allowed in #trading-offers
You are only allowed to post Buy Offers for items that you need and not trying to flip. (Can still sell at flip prices if you are in a rush though)

After quite extensive testing, we have finally released the Dungeon Services section.
You are also able to receive free Carrying services for Floors 4 through 7 if you are the level requirement for the floor.
For example. You can request Floor 6 Carries in #792760710500319243 if you are Catacomb 19.
To prevent abuse, you will only be able to request carries up until the next level meaning at Cata 20, you can no longer be carried and must advance yourself.

On the other side, if you are already advanced in Dungeons you can earn reps by helping others.
There are many perks on SkyBlockZ that can be earned the more reps you accumulate.

An added bonus, there will be big giveaways for people who help carry others in #886352731399401562 .
