Their strength is from feeding off from Saki
Saki making their range as hers means those 5* practically have the dps of a 6* since Saki can help them wherever the map
Fever is also a very broken mechanic as it allows them to cheat out Saki s3 whenever they want to

Newbies will need to have filler units for the rest of their squad, so those 5* are pretty good investment for filling those slots. Not to mention the event also incentives building 5* anyway
