Unless I'm mistaken there doesn't seem to be much/any lore about this game

My main question is why is hammurabi the (current) final boss? Is he evil? He doesn't sound evil when he speaks, if anything the way he describes it the players are the ones ransacking his pond

This lore could be tied into the bosses voicelines, item descriptions and secret locations

Also could be easily added through NPCs who could also add trading/crafting/quests but that's another suggestion entirely

Justice for hammu

Unless he doesn’t deserve it

I hate to say it but rotmg had a simple story motive from its very conception

#

evil mad god taken over realm, beat him to save it

#

the tutorial even does its best to make you feel like you’re not really in a safe place yet

#

yet when I booted up born again I didn’t really feel motivated to go out and fight

#

the only conveyed reason is that the two other occupations in the world are boring/taken

#

plus the enemies don’t all immediately seem hostile beyond “animal” or “leader of an opposing faction” or “greedy”

#

are the soldiers corrupt or are they just working for a different kingdom? are the later game humanoid bosses simply defending their land, or do they have at least a slightly deeper reason for fighting? what about those random pirates on an airship?

#

sorry I’m ranting and the game is in its infancy but the lore enjoyer in me wants that immersion in the game

Yeah I agree

I thought that like maybe hammu was infecting the world with jade

#

But idk

The problem is that there aren't really enough pieces to form good lore yet imo, it will get fleshed out as new content rolls in, you have to keep in mind that a huge amount of the depth of the world just isn't implemented yet, but is planned

(Thinking stuff like dungeons, also the avatars although idk if they are planned, but I assume so)
