Still nothing so far, we found a way to invite e/ other through the launcher (sending an invite in game & letting it go through r*'s launcher), i think we've tried everything under the sun and still cant get in a game w each other 💀

#

we both cleared our caches in r*, tried using another person as a gateway to join e/ other, uninstalled & reinstalled to no avail, if we were able to get the game removed properly and rebuy it would it still have the same problem? i imagine the error 27140000 is pretty much unavoidable if youre struck with it

There is some weird issue with specific countries/regions and R* game invites. (I.e. Egypt, Au, NZ). Perhaps you could try VPN if this is the case.

I'm from the US if that helps any
I don't think you can get a VPN on the steam deck tho afaik unless switching it over to Windows

You can. You can look up some guides on google or what not.

#

And where is your friend from? Possibly you're using same internet perhaps?

we are! we live together, actually
he had looked into getting a VPN but couldn't find anything helpful
Rockstar actually responded to his ticket but claimed R* can't run on a Linux system and ended it there

Alright then it's likely port related issue since you're using same network. First thing you could do is go to your router's configuration and see if UPNP is enabled. Enabling it should solve it in most cases. Further steps could be assigning each device static lan IP.

#

For router thing run commandline on windows, type "ipconfig" and enter. "Default gateway" should be your router's address, type/copy it to web browser and enter. If you don't know login details google your router model.
