F.A.Q.

What is Pasio Academy?

It's a new game mode arriving to the PokΓ©mon Masters EX game on <t:1743400800:D>. However it's not going to be a daily or weekly game mode. Instead the game mode is tied with the introduction of Academy sync pairs. You can recruit Academy Sync Pairs by participating in the Pasio Academy during certain time periods. Academy Sync Pairs recruited directly from this mode are customizable. It will be a game mode that is available during Special Costume Academy Sync Pair events.

What are customizable Academy Sync Pairs?

Customizable Academy Sync Pairs are Sync Pairs you can recruit for a limited time directly from the Pasio Academy Event at no cost.

  • Rosa (Academy) & Deerling from <t:1743400800:D> to <t:1744956000:D>
  • Florian & Lechonk from <t:1744696800:D> to <t:1746252000:D>
The character's base summary has hardly any stats nor any passives. Instead you can adjust everything about them by customizing an completed academy sync grid.

How are Academy Sync Pairs customizable?

When participating in the Pasio Academy you'll earn new types of sync orbs exclusive to Academy sync pairs. These can be used to unlock +stats, +move power, additional skills, and even attack & trainer move selection (among 6 options).

What are Academy Sync Pairs that are in the Sync Pair Scout?

These pairs are considered Special Costume Sync Pairs, and will have a typical paid & non-paid scouts. These sync pairs are not customizable and have traditional skillsets. In Pasio Academy they'll receive a reward bonus when used in the team to complete stages.

What's the objective of Pasio Academy?

You'll take one of these recruited Academy Sync Pairs and climb through 12 stages. Each stage will reward your pair these new custom sync orbs, that will allow you to unlock upgrades. Once you finish the game mode, you can then take your Customized Academy Sync Pair and use them for the standard game content such as Champion Stadium, etc. The stage selection is random in Pasio Academy. So, you'll have the option of rerunning the Pasio Academy multiple times. Doing so may yield a better collection of orbs for a better Sync Grid.

  • You'll also receive 4x Custom-iGoldPowerUp for the Academy pair each time you complete it. So try to aim for a better grid each time.
  • Power them up to 20/20 and unlock their ex if you wish!

Can I adjust the Customizable Academy Sync Pairs whenever I want?

No. Once you've completed the Pasio Academy you cannot adjust the sync grid of the Academy Sync Pair. However, you can redo the Pasio Academy with the same sync pair during the event period. Each run-through has the In-Training Grid reset so that you can re-earn sync orbs again. Once you reach the end again, you'll have a choice of keeping your previous Completed Grid or overwriting it with the new In-Training Grid.

  • In-Training grid is your grid preset while in the current Academy game mode, this is reset for each run-through.
  • Completed grid preset for all other content outside of the Academy. You can overwrite this each time you complete the Pasio Academy.
  • After the event ends, the Completed Sync Grid cannot be adjusted, so decide what build you will want for the pair.

How does an Academy Sync Grid differ?

Here's an image. You'll start from the center and work your way outwards. Each of the πŸ’Ώ CD looking nodes represents an attack or trainer move. In order to learn these, you'll need rare TM orbs, you'll only be able to access 3 of them, which limits your branch choices. The rest of the nodes require the 4 different colored academy sync orbs.

  • πŸ’Ώ CD Nodes teach your Academy sync pair new pokemon or trainer moves.
  • Blue nodes are stat nodes.
  • Red nodes are passives tied to specific moves.
  • Yellow nodes are passive skills.
  • Green nodes are power tiles for attack moves.
  • Rainbow nodes are Sync Power nodes.

Warning for Midterm & Final Exams

  • These battles are extremely important.
  • Be very careful as failing this battle will mean you get no rewards.
  • You cannot restart or quit the battle.
  • If the game crashes, is closed, or internet is lost it will count as a loss.
  • You will advance to the next area automatically after it’s over.
  • Memorize your sync pair’s action layout and put the game at slow speed and queue manually, do not auto. You can queue moves much faster.
#

Other

  • At any time before the epilogue you can reset and customize your Academy Sync Pair’s grid.
  • Stats and Passives are not reflected on the Sync Pair Summary screen because it excludes the grid.
  • If you’ve previously completed the Epilogue. You will have a choice to keep your old grid from the previous Academy run or to overwrite it with the new Grid earned in the current Academy run.

Mutually Exclusive Areas
The following areas cannot appear at the same time:

  • Cafeteria & Large Lecture Hall
  • Schoolyard & Outside School

Certain Stages ask a Question? Does it matter which answer I pick?

  • For Gloria, Iono, Lance, Grimsley, Ball Guy in the Courtyard, it does not matter as the outcome is random.
  • For N or Prof. Sycamore in the Courtyard, it however does.

There's an Area Called Break Time Interaction # ? Does it matter who I talk to?
Yes, it does matter! When you select this area marked with a πŸ” Magnifying Glass. You will be able to pick from 3-4 Sync Pairs.
Each one gives a different reward. Check the document for the drops.

How Can I Reset my Run for Bad RNG or to Reset for an Ideal Stage 1?
After completing the Academy at least once. You will be able to reset it by going to πŸ•’ History and Red Back Arrow will let you reset. All progress on your In-Training Grid will be reset.

#

What Color Orbs should I be aiming for?
It seems that in order to obtain a majority of the upper portion of the sync grid, you'll need a lot of Red and Yellow Orbs. However in order for your sync pair to not be frail, you'll also want stat nodes.
πŸ”΄ 🟑 Aiming for a high amount of Red and Yellow Orbs between 1400 - 1900.
πŸ”΅ Blue would be up next, with as much as you can muster, between 1000 - 2000.
🟒 Green is the least used, you'll want about 600 - 1000.

For context, for a full grid (which is nearly impossible to get), costs 1740 R / 1080 G / 2080 B/ 1940 Y

Are there stages I should always do?

  • Before Midterms Prof. Kukui offers a battle that rewards a TM orb.
  • Before Final Exam Clavell offers a battle that rewards a TM orb.
  • In the Courtyard Blue, offers 400 orbs of each color.

If I skip Kukui/Clavell will they show up again before Exams?

  • Yes, if there is at least 1 round available. Also they can spawn with a different orb color then what they previously had.

If stage selection is random, how do I go about achieving a build I have in-mind?

You can only do 1 area per stage, and there are only so many paths that yield a high amount of orbs.
Every single stage can be encountered multiple times with no limit, except for Kukui/Clavell and Exam stages.

  • Area 1: Reset till you receive either:
    • Sygna Suit Red: The Original Trio
    • Kukui: A Reward from Professor Kukui
    • Evelyn: Chatelaine Campaign 1
Meeting these stages earlier, maximizes your chances of seeing Campaign quests later and for Courtyard quests, which only occur from rounds 3-5, 7-11.
For multi-part quests such as πŸ”΄ Wally, 🟒 Nemona, πŸ”΅ Team Rocket, 🟑 Leon, and the Chatelaines, it's best to encounter them early before midterms.
  • Areas 3-5 & 7-11: The Courtyard
    • These stages can yield a high amount of orbs, they can provide gap-fill or a boost your orb count beyond the usual.
    • Encountering multiple Courtyard quests can be very beneficial but requires luck.
    • After Midterms, the best courtyard quests appear including: N, Sycamore, Prof. Oak and Blue.
  • Always do the highest difficulty exams, they're not difficult.
    • Midterms reward: 450 🟑 Sparky Orbs with the multiplier.
    • Final Exams reward: 300 πŸ”΄πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ Fiery, Leafy, Bubbly Orbs with the multiplier.
  • The highest grid configuration is: 1740 πŸ”΄ / 1080 🟒 / 2120 πŸ”΅ / 1940 🟑
    • Ultimately you'll want to aim for 1440 πŸ”΄ / 780 🟒 / 1820 πŸ”΅ / 1490 🟑

Are there stages I should always avoid?

  • NPCs like Lass, Youngster, etc offer less orbs than all other stages.
  • There's a stage called Lost Leon, it offers Sparky orbs. However there's a better stage called The Original Trio featuring SS Red, that stage drops 150 Sparky orbs which is always a better option.
  • Brock's Rock Smashing (Courtyard) has too many different rewards to reliably predict an outcome.
  • Lower difficulties on Exam stages. Just set your sync grid before battling them.

What are the Rewards from Characters marked with ? Rewards?

The Courtyard can start appearing during rounds 3 - 11 (when there are 9 remaining).
If you have interacted with Blue, seeing Prof. Oak may only result in 30 orb result. As the stages are marked as mutually exclusive in the datatexts.
N, Sycamore, Prof. Oak, and Blue can only appear in Rounds 7-11 (when there are 5 remaining).

Are Break Areas or Non-Battle Quests worth doing, or should I stick with battles?
Battles are not always better, 40 x 3.5 is equal to 140, which some stages offer without a battle or costing you stamina.
If you're lucky and receive the higher end of rewards, such as 300 or 450+, you'll actually have gotten a higher amount than most stages.
So if you see a πŸ” Quest available, it's not always a bad choice. Reference the chart for it's drops to see if aligns with what you're aiming for.

What are these Interactions that have a Sparkle & Shine?

These are areas marked as special, as they have different reward structure:

  • Prof. Kukui before Midterms will offer colored Orbs + a TM orb.
  • Clavell before Final Exam will offer colored Orbs + a TM orb.
  • These Characters will reappear again, with more orbs on subsequent battles:
    • Wally's Training: πŸ”΄ Fiery
    • Battle Nemona: 🟒 Leafy
    • Team Rocket's Infiltration: πŸ”΅ Bubbly
    • Lost Leon 🟑 Sparky
    • Chatelaine Campaign: Mixed

It's always necessary to complete Kukui & Clavell's stages in order to obtain a full move-set because they're the only ones who reward a TM Orb. As for the multi-part quests, it depends if you're meeting them early in your academy run, as meeting them later on means less chances to do their stages.

Recommended Builds for Rosa & Florian

Preface

  • To make it a bit simplier I'll be refering to portions of their grids as branches. The inner branches are locked behind TM orb access. You can only ever access 3 inner branches.
  • The upper and lower branches that you access via the middle column are essentially free reign. You want as much as possible of both these branches. Most of the time, you'll come up short and will have to choose among nodes.
  • You can forgo defenses in favor of offenses for game modes like #damage-challenge, and vice-versa for #legendary-gauntlet.

Rosa (Deerling)

Florian (Lechonk)
