For expedition teams, you aim to get highest level possible on rare cache and a colour. Make 3 teams for each colour. The pins have recommended teams, check them out

You will get more than enough in time. However i highly recommend trying to reaise the rare cache level as well.
Rare cache level has a chance of dropping a single item of 100-300 of a gold color shard with gold chests

Like here on the first team, for your first team you had +14 on orange which isn't useful
Since you're quite new the units are really limiting but you have enough to make two teams of 10 rare caches
Consider
TeamA has innate +1 on red and orange
TeamB has innate +1 on blue and chests
On A you can put 4 units with +2 Chests
Then use the rare cache elixir to reach 10
As you can see rare caches units usually lowers other resources
So you can stack all the - Red and - Blue to avoid lowering the Orange
An example can be using Guzma, Nolan, Hau and Hugh
They all give +2 chests and -2 blue
So you'll have a +10 rare caches and at least 7 on orange or red at your choice
In team B same thing, get 10 chests
4 units with +2 BUT this time the omni elixir is enough to reach 10 (because the stage has the base +1 on chests)
And like before, manage to get a second color higher as possible
Once the standard exploration areas A and B are set, go to the seasonal stage and put resources only into that
(doubt you still have good rare caches comp, but as we said above going low is just bad, it's either 9-10 oer nothing)
Later with more units you'll get easier comps but looks good to me sonl far

Rare Cache is a bit difficult to reach Lv10 with, since each character's "budget" counts Rare Cache as being worth two points compared to any other color counting as one point. It also primarily shows up on Rivals, Villains, and Battle Facility Foes.
It is still absolutely recommended to try reaching Lv10 in it on all teams, though, so you're on the right track

For beginner purposes... I think you're always short on sync orbs for a long time? So once you have some solid supports, you could consider Calem for fire coverage. He works quite well gridless.
Silver and his Ho-oh are a strong fire pair, but... he's dependent on his grid build for that

Calem gets a whopping +50% damage from an innate passive. His SpAtk is above 300, making it usable; the closest to an issue here is Heat Wave's group-target damage dispersion

Yeah. You can expend them to enter a conversation, close the app before completing it, and reopen it later to have the interactions refunded. ...even on another day entirely
The very specific plan above, is to ensure I never have to do the minigame to completion more than once per day, and ensure I still do it every day for the daily (though nowadays that's less of a big deal)
Take note that this trick's ability to "savescum" a convo is limited. The instant you select the convo topic that would end the interaction, it autosaves clientside before the Guest even reacts. If you close the game at that point, it's too late; the game will send the result to the server when you next login.

Any potential loss in friendship gain on another trainer would be very small

I would still take the hot topic due to the increased chance of having another turn afterward (and another turn after that).
By that point, the convo length bonus is bigger than the difference between the lowest and highest topic value
Super Exciting is worth 5 points more than Interesting
On turn 6 onward, you get +5 points (and then +6, and then +7...) for any topic
My plan is...
Turn 1 and 2: highest score that is not a hot topic
Turn 3: grab a hot topic at all cost to enter Max Vibes
Turn 4 and 5 (during Max Vibes): highest score that is not a hot topic
Turn 6+: spam hot topics whenever they appear
Turn 1 and 2 have zero Attention cost, so a Hot Topic wastes its halved cost effect-- and Max Vibes will waste its zero cost effect
Turn 3 is the first turn to cost Attention. This is the best time to use a Hot Topic to enter Max Vibes, as a result
And Hot Topics won't help your Attention during Max Vibes because... There are no Attention costs for them to halve until it's over.
