Blue is a great first choice, especially once candied to 3/5 and gridded up. Giovanni can grid to provide a good buff set as well. Dawn, if you had her, is a strong choice too.
Elesa has the very uncommon combination of +Acc and +Crit buffs together. This is a bit niche, though.
I'd probably start with Blue and/or Gio, and then look at some offense choices. Calem(Fennekin) is surprisingly effective without needing investment into his grid; you can pair him with Silver(Ho-Oh) against Fire-weak fights on a budget.

If you do a thousand convos... X% of them will go really well, Y% will go poorly, and Z% will just be mid.
That doesn't change whether you're doing the minigame one time or six times per day.
It just takes 1/6th as much time to do a 6× interact every day instead of six 1× interacts every day
But, well, part of the point of the Lodge is to let players spend quality time with their favorite characters. So if you have a favorite character you'd enjoy (playing a minigame about) chatting with... I could see some value in doing six 1× interacts for that.

it only takes 10 days or so if you use gifts and all 6 interactions. after a while you just run out of new guests and resort to leveling up older ones past 100

It isn’t that hard to build up a pile of hundreds of thousands of every color. Max out 1 color+cache on two teams and have a third team to either cycle in if you run out of a color or if an event is active

Yea for the halloween one, I used halloween pairs which focused on rare cache; the other two, I was focusing on fiery since I assumed Gladion was gonna be fiery (didn't think he was gonna be soothing)

no, the type of stone for each unit is based on the role of their base unit
for example, N & Zekrom is strike, so he uses red stone
Leaf & Eevee is support, so she uses blue stone

And it's not just release rate but availability that matters.
Currently the only way to get any Sprints or Fields (for the rest of the month at that) is the Mix Scout. Mix Red's the only one with anything approaching a reasonable drop rate from it, and you can't even turbowhale to try for more-- the daily limit would stop you
And if you could turbowhale to try for more, you'd quickly get to 5/5 on Mix Red and not need candies for him anymore

not only those, but if you have everyone lvl 100, if you don't do it, it'll be one less daily mission and you won't get the resources from the level up (lodge stones) that can be trated for other resources (like certificate)
so you can do it for the resources too. I recommend to get everyone you can to lvl 100 first, but depends on what you want, if you want to only interact with your fav, it's your decision

The hardcap is 10. You can "smuggle" spare interactions from day to day using a savescum trick
I tend to stockpile them carefully right before the arrival of a new guest, so that I can get them to FriendLv 100 sooner (and stop having to worry about unlocking their lodge pair sooner)

I always try and prepare 10 interactions before a new free unit comes to lodge. If I don’t have that unit then I just go back to doing favs.

200 is lowball, in fact... Generally we tend to estimate an average of 10 per day (I once crunched the numbers and yeah, mine is slightly above that)
So that's around three-and-a-half months per 1k
Oh, right. Only 200 levels because the other 100 are going to the new guest that month. Suddenly it all makes sense.
