Im not tempted to pull for hse, as i usually cannot do it with only faves run although some of the types like psychic that i have close to 15 faves, they aren't synergised much with each other thus you need to use non fave pairs as well to clear it. Therefore, i already came to terms with it...plus water/fairy is kinda bad combo for me, only 5 water faves and 3 fairy faves so 8 in total but need 15 for clears.

Large gem counts could also be seen as impossible benchmarks while smaller gem counts could show people in similar situations that are trying to begin or resume saving. We don't shame gem counts here and we're certainly not going to restrict people from showing their own.

Also for the topic, guys that have big gem counts also will drop when there's a wave of faves appearing, not like they aren't saving, but they saved for that moment, and then recovering from a small amount of gems back...so its a perfect saver behaviour i would say

My word of advice for new savers is to accept that you cannot get everything thats released unless you're a whale, thus you need to have clear goals (favourite list), careful resource planning (form a pity amount or more) and realised that sometimes it takes some time, especially when you are a new player and bunch of your faves are already released long time ago. I still remembered that i took close to a year to get Zekrom that's released before i joined PoMa. Gloria, Lysandre need few months.
Now my faves rerun list are cleared although im still anxious every datamine as i got a lot of unreleased faves

mmm yup! and don't get caught up in post datamine hype too quickly if it's not someone you really really want (ie a fav/saving goal), especially if the banner lasts into the next month too. give yourself time to think about whether you really want something or just want it because it's new and cool
and if you're the type you can also do cost benefit analysis where you think about how much satisfaction you'll get from having this unit compared to the potential risk to future units that you might be more invested in. of course there's no harm in pulling especially if you've already saved up enough for your important goals, but just be aware that it can cut into future stocks ig

There is a balance between zen and spend and that really depends on the individual. All I can offer is that it gets easier the longer you do it.

tbh it always depends, like, I don't pull favorites because I simply have none other than maybe pokemon and even then, I just don't ever spend resources blindly, if a pair has a mon I love but pretty much everything else about it sucks I'm likely not pulling them. It needs to check more than one box for me to be interested, between overall kit, role, candy situation, outfit, pokemon and trainer. So, for me staying above 1 pity is comfortable enough, of course the higher the count the better but talking in general

The first shiny I encountered was a Sigilyph (not caught). The first shiny I actually had was an event Rayquaza, but unfortunately Anni Steven is my most disliked sync pair in the game so the positive memories from the main-game shiny are null, void, and then some when it comes to whether I’d pull.
If a different Shiny Rayquaza (there’s already two of them, we can do whatever we want here) were to show up though I’d probably pull.

First limited sync pair ive gotten in Maxie and i could proudly say that him, free solgaleo, free mew during the time i joined are the impetus that start my goal to collect legendaries and mythicals, well it started as that and then i added UB when i got lusamine and gladion during Maxie pulls. Paradoxes are added later when i knew that Koraidon and Miraidon are paradoxes while also being legendaries so might as well not be biased and collect em all paradoxes
Oh right, seeing legends events back then also sparked my desire to collect them, i thought they will give us a new one every month got mewtwo after that month's solgaleo event
