thats what the tier scouts are there for, and 21k while steep is much less than 36k paid on the regular banner

so by doing so and using free gems on only one banner youre looking at 50k paid max

still not a good long term player solution but if theyre seeking advice on how to efficiently use their resources then its in the realm of this help area

I think paid is good if your lucky (no such thing as luck, it's just how randomizers work) or you have a plan in my mind.
I've never pulled from a paid banner ||excluding Mix|| but if I were to pull and not get a pair within two 11x pulls, I'd quit doing the paid and save.

After playing this game for ~3 years I finally have enough gems saved for a pity. I got really awful spending money during June-October last year (had to pity Irida and almost-pity SS Ethan and didn't have enough free gems from pulling Eusine and SS Silver) since there was so many units I wanted to grab. I even spent a noticeable amount of money to get Fall Phoebe, a character I don't have enough attachment to really justify my spending but I desperately wanted all of the Halloween units in the game since I loved ghost-types so much. No more grabbing units just to have them, haven't pulled for a 2024 unit since NC Rosa and only spared at most 2/3 multis for older banners. Skipping units is 100% doable, the meta keeps changing every 2 months now. I'm done spending money on this game for a looonnggg time and I'm just really happy I can guarantee NC Silver the day after tomorrow.

despite how many more free resources we have access to now (lodge, bp, powerboosts) i think it’s harder to save gems these days than a couple years ago when the limited banner pace was much slower

There was a point recently where I realised I was holding back on EXing certain F2P units for almost no point anymore. I think by this point, it’s not that big of a deal EXing most decent units, right?
