• f2p units were very few and extremely bad

• no true pity

Pity existed but was a serious problem
In short each unit was composed by 3 pieces
Imagine if we have sync pairs formed by: the character (hero), the pokemon (support), its passives (relic) and you have to pull all 3 to make that work as intended.
That pity granted one at random of those 3 pieces, so you may close your banner having a set of passives or a pokemon for a character you don't have
Game never survived one year despite huge whales supporting

So yeah, looking how bad other systems can be just let you appreciate poma more
Oh and 5* units have 3% rates and featured sit at 0.5% so most of your pulls are trash stuff
