I'm late but personally my biggest gripe with the eevee day scout and stuff is worrying that dena may use it as an excuse to not give those characters proper content in the future. I worry that dena will either look at the variety scouts and be like "well, we just gave lucas an alt, so we don't have to give him anything new for a while" or that they'll look at poor sales and be like "see, no one likes lucas, so there's no reason to give him anything new!" even tho this lucas offered nothing new for lucas fans.

And also the issue of players complaining about future alts like "why does lyra need another alt she already has 4 pairs" when one of those pairs was a variety scout with zero new lyra content. Idk, if it can potentially impact the characters' ability to get content in the future, I'd rather not have these extra pairs at all.
