but it’s such a long form reward system that it makes the count inaccurate for anyone who started after BP’s introduction, unless i’m missing something

Because in some months iirc, i got less move coin than what's stated... probably because i kinda have 2k bp difference than those who never misses, and if added my gap, i lack 1 of those coins for that month...but not a big problem as you will get that coin next month anyway

Ftr, I've cleared a stage like that iirc with 1/5 Olivia in the past, as well as 10k CSMM (though that requires 2 EX Supports alongside her if 1/5), so the issue is probably more on how you handle Moltres' weather if anything

Acerola largely does her job at 1/5, and you can do it with her, but I understand if she's maybe a bit much for trouble if not used to using her. I'd typically ask about other weather setter options but if you've got 3/5 Olivia, it should definitely be enough if you go at it the right way
Acerola is a flinch machine, and Olivia's damage is pretty respectable

But yeah, don't wanna ramble off too much into what should prob be for #1009553004350931054, just wanting to at least let you know that what you have should be enough. This goes for almost every stage one can think of: it's more about learning to use what you have than needing to pull for something else that you perceivably lack

If I have to hazard a guess, they are trying to see how to make old limited units available without taking up re-runs space. With seasonals, they’ve settled with the big banners + tiered scouts, while old PFs will probably be gradually added to the Lodge banner + the occasional 3 way banner for gauntlet (which I hope will be updated, stop pushing SS Blue and SS Cynthia, pls).
Since they’re still figuring stuff out and sorting their schedule, new PFs are relegated to paid banners for the newer ones. Gradually they’ll come to regular reruns, since re run space will open up and they’ll be power crept and thus become less valuable as select targets

you ask and answer your own question in the first sentence. there are 4-6 new units each and every month and they’re almost always good in some ways, yet we get less than a pity each month. you recognize that you cannot obtain every shiny new unit, and with the content in the game as-is there isn’t a reason to want them all anyways

so you prioritize what you find important to identify the handful of units that you want to grab

Pull faves and skip non faves, reject meta...well faves that are meta are acceptable

It's important to figure out what makes a unit worth pulling for you

it's easiest to save if the thing that's most important to you is specific characters or mons but it is still possible to save with meta goals, so long as said goals are specific

I do think it's still possible to save for meta reasons, but you'd have to specify what exactly you want them to do. "I just want any good pair" won't help you save, but something like "I want a poison striker with an AOE move" or "I want a rain-setting support that can also heal allies" or whatever (just made those up off the top of my head). The main thing with saving is to be specific enough that you have a clear goal, so you can look at future pairs and right away know if they fit said goals or not.

However, I always hear the saying that if ur not going to pity that’s gems wasted. If I get her early is it best to go to pity regardless and save my candies? I have other techs on my wishlist but that’s the johto trio and they won’t be rerunning for a while. What approach do you guys think is best long term?

My personal rule for selects, is having one unit per category that would make me pull for them, if you’re not aiming for any other select targets and are comfortable waiting until Anni, it’s not a bad idea

The select rule is more so because you can’t be sure you’ll be able to get two or more units of the same category if they happen to be in the same pool
Hence why rn my only select targets are Glojo and HJasmine, if Half Anni as one of them, then I’ll slot in another unit

Depends what you use selects for,
For me they are a way to boost my rooster, since I tend to only pull for faves or 10/10 units, so selects become targets for luxury units that I’d not pull otherwise, like PBea, for example
