You are supposed to only bring the pairs whose roles matching with the bonus roles, like said earlier. For example, you should only use Field and Strike pairs on your round 1 stage

That's not true, a lot of non support units can tank, some of them even match with supports at tanking

You can try different strats like staggering (flinch, sleep) or evasion tanking, if the tank is not good enough. With enough theme boosts, even the weakest tank can eat a few attacks at worst

Another way is using supports with EX Roles

For example, you can bring Rika whose roles being Support / Field to the A1 as the tank, while still having a role matching with bonus roles (Field, Strike)

Geneal rules are:

1. If it offers theme boosts, consider each of them wisely. If the current theme(s) serve you good enough, no need to buy more
2. About 50 pts powerup, most of them are niche so don't buy them recklessly. Look out for crit and sync move powerup, they are generally the best
3. Like i said earlier, you should ignore one time use items unless you need to use them to win a super hard stage, like a9 - a10. You also need to understand that you can ensure the win with them, or else don't bother buying them at all
4. Permanent terrain, weather and zone are not worth buying, same to power up x type moves. Unless you know you will use them frequently, which requires good knowledge so ignore them for now

Anyway my TLDR came down to aiming for 2 of each role combination times the max number of times they could appear in a seed

Bug Zone upgrade would be nice, but problem would be that they need a Battle Facility Foe Theme. Unfortunately, they have less than 6k points, so i dont suggest to buy anything.

Very Hard seems impossible unless you've got a Strike or Support that can drop a field effect like Ingo or Aura Cynthia. Depends on your roster tbh.

I think you could do Hard too if Very Hard feels impossible.

If not, Normal should be easy enough with SS Red, Defense Debuffer Kiawe + 1 Battle Facility Foe of either Support or Strike, depends on who else you have.

Hmmm. for Argenta, i think you're gonna have to use Adaman + SS Gladion + a Support Tank of the Psychic or Normal (200% Stat Boost). That's 450 points if you run with that team.

For Thorton, SST Red + SS Gladion + a Support Tank of the Psychic or Normal variety (so you get 200% stat boost) - 400 Points (2x role bonus)

Anabel one is going to be tough without Weather Change, a rebuffer that isn't named Adaman, and stat debuffers, even in Normal, she's going to have a chunk of HP of 100k .-.;
