I al trying to flash my board from either my raspberry pi 4 connection or compule the data to download it…
The software doesnt detect a board connected and when i click compile nothing happens… this is my first time building a printer so everything to do with this is a little foreign to me ov tried several different usb leads i had laying aroun to try and see if it was that including unplugging the tool head and trying that one still no communication and no compiling option iv also tried powering the psu and just the board that way and powering the pi by usb c still to no avail any help or advice i would really really appreciate

Thanks

Give screenshots of the error messages and exactly what you have tried so far. Also pictures of your wiring of power and USB

Ignore that video where it worked holding my phone i clicked the wrong one

#

But seems its only this one board that doesnt work i can click on any other board and it wil compile

There are multiple different processor versions of the octopus pro 1.1. What version is this? If you don’t know take a close up picture of the processor on the board. Your full board picture is to compressed for me to tell.

My apologies i thought i had said its a h723 1.1

Maybe in the video. It’s late so could not watch them with the volume on. Try this if you have not already. Remove the usb power jumper off of the octopus and hook up the 24v power supply to the octopus and run the. 5volt power jumper from the octopus to power the pi. Also remove the usb c power supply you have running the pi. I powered my octopus pro that way and it worked fine to manually compile the firmware. Have you tried another browser as well?

I tried powering the board by 24v psu with jumper removed and the board i have not tried another browser tho tbf to me though it feels like its a rat os issue as i cant even click it yet i can click every single other board tht isnt even installed and compile firmware

It’s ratos 2.1 correct? Have you gone to the machine tab and updated everything?

hollow hollow
#

When i go machine tab and refresh update manager everything just says invalid and is red

crystal rivet
#

Hit the little update icon. I don’t have my printer on right now so I cannot get a screenshot.

hollow hollow
#

And wont allow me to select a ything

crystal rivet
#

Should be the circle arrow icon at the top of the list of packages

#

Let me see if I can find a picture

hollow hollow
#

Pressed that the little arrows at the top… it thinks and then still says invalid

#

I can power mine on give me a second

crystal rivet
#

Once you press that button if can take about a minute on a pi4.

#

Found someone else’s screenshot I borrowed

hollow hollow
#

Im assuming that the other stuff says invalid because its not plugged in right now

crystal rivet
#

I cannot see as it’s not high enough resolution but is ratos show invalid or can you scroll down a little to that and update it first? It typically says invalid till it updates I think. If it’s not updating I would reimage the pi. It’s the 2.1 rc release correct?

hollow hollow
#

Yeah everything is invalid rat os says under it ratos - v2.:?

#

This is rasp image i downloaded

#

Should it not be 2.1?

crystal rivet
#

sorry not getting notifications for some reason.... Is this a VC4 or VC3?

hollow hollow
#

Vc4 500

crystal rivet
#

thats the wrong image if you are trying to run RatOS 2.1

#

yah not going to work for VC4

#

1 second let me find the link

hollow hollow
#

No its 2.0.1

crystal rivet
#

VC4 needs RatOS 2.1

#

it should have flashed that board but its would not support a VC4

#

is the direct image link

hollow hollow
#

Right they need to change their documentation ill reset everything and try tht thanks buddy

#

I just realised it said 2.0.1

#

Thanks for the help

The docs leave some things to be desired. They are working on it though. No problem. Hopefully that takes care of it. Its midnight here in California so heading to bed but I'll be around in the morning my time. good luck!
