#Bed mesh is saved to default instead of ratos

Pretty sure that's expected. You get to name your bed mesh when saving (or can rename it after saving)

patent basalt
#

The issue is you doe the bed mesh and the marcro tells the printer to use ratos. But the mesh that is made is the default not ratos. Ergo the printer uses the wrong mesh while printing.

vapid crane
#

this kicks in during the print start

patent basalt
#

the mesh you just made is the current mesh

vapid crane
#

As far as I can tell the printer has no mesh loaded when booted and when prints start then it loads the ratos one (assuming variable_calibrate_bed_mesh is False)

patent basalt
#

but it uses the ratos one

vapid crane
#

Just delete them both, make a new one, and then rename it to ratos and then hit save config in the top toolbar?

patent basalt
#

yes done that.

#

same issue persist

#

i have variable bed mesh to true.

vapid crane
#

If it's true then it's going to probe a new bed mesh every time you start printing...

patent basalt
#

it always load ratps

#

ratos

#

ok standard mesh command is.

#

What this does i believe is when you have variable bed mesh anabled. mesh the bed load to ratos and the use the ratos profile

#

Why does klipper make the default mesh and sets it as current. That's odd.

#

here only one profile ratos

vapid crane
#

What is the actual issue you're having.

patent basalt
#

My firste layer is off

#

nice at one side terrible at the other side

#

if I run _START_PRINT_BED_MESH

#

I get

#

it saves to default not ratos

vapid crane
#

"With bed meshing disabled you must have a mesh saved under the "ratos" profile, use BED_MESH_CALIBRATE PROFILE=ratos and SAVE_CONFIG to calibrate and save a mesh."

patent basalt
#

yes i have

#

see the forelast printscreen

#

ratos is ther

#

after running the mesh i get

#

Klipper uses ratos but the mesh has been saved to default

vapid crane
#

How did you run the mesh, using the UI in the Heightmap tab?

patent basalt
#

no i run _START_PRINT_BED_MESH

#

command

vapid crane
#

That's not what the documentation tells you to do

patent basalt
#

no I understand it ;s just to test

vapid crane
#

I don't think "klipper chooses 'default' as the default name for a mesh instead of ratos" is a bug.

patent basalt
#

could you do me a favour.

#

Delte default in your klipper. And set ratos as the current one. And then save config so there is no default mesh in klipper

#

and then run _START_PRINT_BED_MESH

#

to see i you see the same behaviour

vapid crane
#

I'm headed to bed unfortunately but this is what I see if I turn on the printer and click on the Heightmap tab.

patent basalt
#

exaclty there is no default

vapid crane
#

When I first set it up I deleted all the profiles, clicked the Home and then Z-Tilt buttons, then hit Calibrate, renamed it to ratos, and hit Save Config.

#

And then I printed with it (after changing printer.cfg to not run one every print).

patent basalt
#

Ok you have variable set to false

#

Ok i just found the bugger. There was in overide in my euclid macro.

patent basalt
#

I ran the nozzle to close to the bed on purpose. To show the issue i am having. As you can see in the middle height is almost ok on the edges it is way to close to the bed. I use a euclid probe with the right offsets. Why is this hapening. Bed mesh should take this issue out.

#

This is my bed at 110 degrees

patent basalt
#

and another one it just won't compensate the mesh enough. at the edges to close to the bed. In the middle ok.

#

I use 0.3 for first layer

patent basalt
#

I am out of ideas.

How long are you letting everything heat up before you start the bed calibration? I find that the bigger the piece, the longer I have to wait to get everything to stabilize. For a full bed print, I often wait 30 minutes for everything to equilibrate before I start the homing, z-tilt, bed calibration, and print. If I don't do this, then I find myself chasing the z-height adjustment during the first layer.

I have the dual x gantry mod. So gantry bowing is as good as eliminated. Also I printed that with fully open top so heating of the gantry shouldn't be the issue.

Mount was loose been chasing this issue for days and never thought of checking my mount.
